On monday we went through our monologues based on characters in the East end. I chose the wmen that gets beaten because i think to make an effective piece you have to choose a character that isnt mainly focused on and a big part this way you can create an exciting story and your own character. I used alot of repetition like CRASH!WOLLOP!BANG! becuase in East end tales we are meant to use sound and physical theatre.
I really enjoyed dans because he showed alot of emotion and passion. I think he uncovered the true character and what he said fit together and flow. Dan did tale 3 which is about a common smoking, drinking man who drinks beer and says 'cheers,london pride' but he has a hidden secret that he killed someone. Dan also used the space really well because he was right against the wall, stood tall at points which showed his characters, tall, proud and loud with hidden secrets and guilt.
Next we got into our East End tale groups. Im working with Chris, Amaia, Gloria and Logan on tale 6 which is about two Carribean people at a bar. The lady spills her drink on a man and he looks as if he is going to hit her but then it all stops and she buys him another beer, they start talking. I like the Tale bt im not sure what we can do to make it a peiice of physical theatre. Next we got a peice of A3 and spiderdiagram our ideas.
