Blog 3 and homework 2

Blog 3 and Homework 2

B3.
This lesson we started of in the small room and did some exercises, Max chose to do the exercise bus stop. We did to improve our impro skills, my favourite was amias and logans they got the scenario, a blind date logon chose to be more femenine and amia was quite cockney it was really funny and they made it funny because they didnt block eachother they just said YES!. Next we played splat again.

Once we finished the exercises we got into groups and read through tale 3 which is a man is talking about what the east end would be like if he was his friend. This tale suggests the east end would be ypical cockney man who smokes and drinks but has an awful past because he killed someone. We had to draw round someone and fill in his head what he thinks, in his body, personality and outside what everyone else thinks of him, i cant put in the photo of the sheet so i will write some things we thought here>

BODY-
* Happy on the outside
* Frozen with guilt
* lost little boy
* alone
* Disguised
* Hidden
* secretive
* secretive

OUTSIDE-
*Eastender
*Common lad
*Druggy
*Crap jokes
*Jack of all trades
*joker
  • What scene did you develop?
  • What drama skills did you use to do so?
  • Explain what you did as a group. Why did you make these choices? (Think about character- voice/physicality.
After we had done this we collected all our ideas up and put it in a peice using dance and physical theatre. This was one of my favourite things ive done since coming into the school. Amaia, phoebe, Zac and elllis was in my group.We started of abit confused and unsure of what to do but then we got the idea of the thought he had killed someone was hanging over him. We chose to focus on one character and the rest being overpowering thoughts. Amaia was the East end at the start we all stood in different places being stereotypical people in the east end such as Ellis was drunk i was smoking and someone was the phone. We then all slowly came into a tight circle with our arms hanging over. Amaia was outside saying one of the lines 'cheers yeah london pride' she then slowly back upped into the circle of thoughts we tried to get her down by repeating things like murderer,you killed someone, guily guilty, this created tension and built it up. Then this abrubtly stopped as amaia shouted. We then chose to use the lines 'A blow to the cheek, a boot to the jaw' as she said this she circled us as we reacted to what she had said as if we been kicked in the stomach.

  • What was effective about the characterisation they had decided to explore?
  • Did the scene help you understand anything new about the play or another character?
