Blog 1

New term subject-
East End Tales

Blog 1-

Today we started of our new topic which is a play called East End Trails. It is based in the East End .

First We all got our marks back for our blogs and our performance. I got a Distinction in my blog and my performance which im really happy with because i tried really hard and i put in the effort. I also enjoyed the topic because i have done it before and i loved inferring my characters feelings and emotions and then changing into a performance. Ive never worked on a detailed peice with just one other person so that was also interesting.

Next we started reading the script. I was quite suprised because it wasnt a usual script. There werent ovbious characters in it. As we read on what looked like poem paragraphs we realized there were different people with different stories. One that i liked was a part where three people described what The East End would be like if he or she was a human.

After this we talked about the play abit then we got up and did a physical exercise. We all walked around as ourself then thought about what a old lady would feel like crossing a busy street, we also practised acting cocky like a ganstar, an important buisness women and policeman. I think we did this so we could think about the characters and how they wqould feel and act also we looked at surrounding such as the countryside or a busy city i think we also did this to take into perspective that surroundings are a big part of our lives and the play is based in a very contraversual surrounding.

Following this we went back to the play and thought about the themes in the play. We got into groups and got a A3 peice of paper and some highlights. As a group we thought about some themes in the play and went into detail about them such as
-family problems such as relationship abuse - love - cant escape- hidden life - help
After this we chose 3 freeze frames in each group and one by one we all got up and froze in our pisitions after we were all frozen everyone around us thought of a caption to matcht it.
